The KAVV and Post 21 honored the veterans living at the senior communities on Veterans Day 2022!

One of Sue Green’s contributions to the KAVV is the printing and packaging of the Honor Volley that we present to the family. ” 25 packets and 3 hours later… ❤️” was her comment. The shells are buffed by Tim, Son Tim, and probably CJ too. Thanks for all you do Sue!

The KAVV presented Colors at the Annual “Heat for Heroes” and “Keep Wisconsin Warm Fund” Golf benefit at Grand Geneva Resort & Spa. This a huge fundraiser for these important programs, and we are proud to be a part of it.

The KAVV handed out over 700 American Flags before and during the parade, and represented themselves on one of Kenosha’s trolly’s. We rounded out the day as the Color Guard for that evenings Kenosha Kingfish Game!

The KAVV Honor Guard’s annual memorial day presentation. The KAVV reads the names of all veteran’s who were killed in battle and reads the names of Kenosha’s sons and daughters that have died in battle since the Vietnam War.

After we left Library Park, we went to VFW Post 1865 as an Honor Guard at their Flag Retirement Ceremony. (Any Photos out there?)

Rich Bowker, Tim Green, Bob Marion, Tom Visintainer, and Paul Ciarelli rounded out the (long) day as a Color Guard during the Kenosha Kingfish Game.

The Heroes Cafe tipped their hat to local Vietnam Veterans in honor of Vietnam Veterans Day, March 29, 2022. The KAVV was out in force! Thanks Anne and the rest of the HC Staff for all they do for the KAVV and all local veterans. Oh, and thanks for the doughnuts too!

March 29, 11:30 AM – Mission BBQ Color Guard for Vietnam Veterans Day

Once in a while, we get more people than equipment. March 12, 2022 was one of those days. Larry Olle even showed up after the picture was taken! It was another cold one, but the total was 14. Hope you are having fun in the sun Roy!

Also, Long time KAVV Member Jim Rossman is now a member of the Honor Guard. Welcome!

Last night, Rich Willoughby, a former Navy Corpsman, answered the calls of guests at the funeral we were guarding for someone with medical experience. Rich rodger’d up and followed them to a woman who was having a seizure. With his experience, he was able to provide instruction and comfort to the other guests while awaiting the ambulance. Other members of the KAVV helped out by directing the ambulance and clearing a path in the snow. The woman came out of the seizure very much ok. Glad you are part of the team Rich!
