WTMJ’s James Groh visited us at the bunkers last week, and joined in on the fun! Here’s the story he came away with:

WTMJ’s James Groh: A group of veterans and volunteers pose for a photo inside The Bunker’s Coffeehouse for VETS.

While you’re listening to the video, listen carefully for “Kenosha Cares For Vets” a group started by American Legion Post 21 in collaboration with The Bunkers. As stated in a previous article, this isn’t just for the holidays, we plan on doing this periodically. Contact us for more information!

The Bunkers Jo Wynn collaborated with American Legion Post 21 this past couple of months to come up with a way to get Veterans staying at local facilities like the Dayton House and Waters Edge some help and comraderie. Jo donated most of the contents of the very well received donation bags which included the note below. Post 21 plans to do something like this at least once a quarter, and we would appreciate any donations for this new Kenosha tradition.

Note that any group or veteran group can participate. While Jo supplied the much needed and welcomed supplies, Post 21 volunteers went to visit the Dayton and Waters Edge this holiday season. We stayed at the Dayton for a couple of hours handing out the bags and communing with the Veteran’s staying there. It was fun and rewarding.

Please contact us with donations or questions about the program.

The Bunker will be closed for Thanksgiving holidays November 27th, 28th, and 29th. Returning Wednesday, December 4, 2024, 9am to 1pm.

We will be Closed Christmas holiday Wednesday, December 25th, and Thursday, December 26th. Returning Friday, December 27, 2024, and Tuesday, December 31, 2024, 9am to 1pm.

Members of the Kenosha Area Vietnam Veterans Honor Guard visited the coffee house this morning , April 19th. We had been at the Heroes Cafe, and decided to go see the good folks at the Bunkers. The free coffee and Apple Fritter didn’t make us sorry either. Neither did the awesome company!
