Once in a while, we get more people than equipment. March 12, 2022 was one of those days. Larry Olle even showed up after the picture was taken! It was another cold one, but the total was 14. Hope you are having fun in the sun Roy!

Also, Long time KAVV Member Jim Rossman is now a member of the Honor Guard. Welcome!

Last night, Rich Willoughby, a former Navy Corpsman, answered the calls of guests at the funeral we were guarding for someone with medical experience. Rich rodger’d up and followed them to a woman who was having a seizure. With his experience, he was able to provide instruction and comfort to the other guests while awaiting the ambulance. Other members of the KAVV helped out by directing the ambulance and clearing a path in the snow. The woman came out of the seizure very much ok. Glad you are part of the team Rich!

The Honor Guard attend Swede’s Annual Fundraiser to show thanks and support for this veteran friendly establishment. Rich Bowker presented pictures and framed Thank You’s to Joan Spair and Jon Olson.

5 The KAVV Honor Guard at Swede’s Annual Fundraiser

The KAVV Honor Guard was on hand to help dedicate the section of 58th Street between Sheridan Road and the Lake as the Honorary Paul Herrick Blvd.

Marine Private Herrick, a son of Kenosha, was killed aboard the USS Arizona (BB-39) on December 7th, 1941. He is the namesake of The American Legion, Post 21 in downtown Kenosha.

I received comments from many of the attendees including State Representative Samantha Kerkman, The American Legion State Commander Eirich, 1st District Commander Stuvengen, and our very own Post 21 Commander Thomas “Woody” Visintainer Sr. below, about the professionalism of the Honor Guard, and what they added to the ceremony!
