Post 21 is one of the oldest veterans organizations in Kenosha. It was chartered on October 1, 1920. The building on 504 58th Street was built by the citizens of Kenosha in 1938. The post boasted over 5000 members in their heyday. Many local bands have their origins in the bands of this post. Many citizens of kenosha can say that they attended an event held in the dining hall of the proud old building. Hall rentals are currently on hold, but special events for veterans and members are considered.

The post is named after Marine Pvt. Paul E. “Bud” Herrick. A Kenosha Native, Paul died aboard the USS Arizona on December 7th, 1941. Check out their website for many other details about Paul and the Post.

Other Veteran Organizations

The Kenosha Area Vietnam Veterans are a close knit group of Vietnam Veterans that have been helping each other and the community since the 1980’s. Their Honor guard is the official honor guard for Kenosha County. They average three funerals a week, giving final honors to local veterans. They also perform Color Guard duties upon request.

Their website was created to honor area Vietnam Veterans. All gave some, some gave all.

Recently, they started accepting associate members to fill out their aging ranks on the Honor Guard. The first associate member was Tom “Woody” Visintainer. Use the contact page on their website if you are interested.
